Folio 07 / Launch status
Early Access, sorted into what is decided and what is not
Most pages about this game either state a release date they do not have or bury the launch facts under speculation. This one puts the confirmed items first and then lists the unknowns with the reason each one is blank.

Red means nothing is published. Amber means a direction is stated without a commitment. Ivory means the studio has said it plainly and it can be quoted.

Six things the studio has settled
Early Access is planned for later this year
The producer letter places Early Access later this year without naming a day. Steam still lists the game as coming soon.
2026-09-15 ANNOUNCEMENT →Demo progress does not carry over
The demo announcement states that progress and save data from the Steam Next Fest build will not move into the Early Access version.
2026-10-19 ANNOUNCEMENT →Gender-locked classes stay at launch
The studio confirms the current gender-locked class system remains in place at Early Access. Development is underway to add more gender options gradually, starting with select classes, but not for all classes at once.
2026-09-15 ANNOUNCEMENT →Voice-over and facial animation are in
Both were missing from the September network test build and both are described as fully implemented since then.
2026-10-18 ANNOUNCEMENT →PvP ships without kill rewards
Rewards for defeating another player were deliberately held back. Rankings and trophies are described as likely coming after launch as part of live updates.
2026-10-04 ANNOUNCEMENT →Party quest sharing exists
Quest sharing for party members was added along with improved channel-join logic and fixes for points of interest explored together.
2026-10-18 ANNOUNCEMENT →Folio 07.3 / Unpublished
Six things nobody can tell you yet
Each row below also explains why it is blank. That is the difference between an honest gap and a lazy one.
Release date
Steam shows coming soon with the date set to be announced. No official day exists to report.
Box price
The studio says the price will be shared when ready. No figure has been published, and guessing one would be worse than useless.
Platforms beyond Steam
The official store data lists PC on Steam. Third-party pages claiming Epic, PlayStation 5 and Xbox have not been matched to a first-party source in this survey.
Number of servers or regions at launch
The network test ran North America only and the demo ran servers in NA East and West, EU Central, Asia East and South. Launch region lists are unpublished.
Trait point costs and respec rules
The progression deep dive says costs, tree layouts and alternate skills will likely change during Early Access, which makes publishing numbers now actively misleading.
Trade values and crafting recipes
Both systems were absent from the demo. Nothing has been datamined or published.
Folio 07.35 / The September test, as recorded
What the first network test actually proved
The September 12 test was the only time the public has touched live servers. The producer letter afterwards is unusually specific about what it was for and what it returned, which makes it the firmest ground under the Early Access timeline.
| Item | On record |
|---|---|
| What it was | An infrastructure test, not a content test. The stated goal was server behaviour under real player load. |
| Window and region | About six hours, North America only. The producer apologised to players who could not attend. |
| Load result | Servers and key infrastructure held stable with more concurrent players than the team had planned for. |
| Average playtime | About one hour thirty minutes, despite limited content and a short window. |
| Known defects after it | A black screen issue, Party UI problems, and several griefing methods were listed as in development. |
| One admission | Temporary development and test elements had leaked into the external build; the studio says they will not ship and that review is being tightened. |
Folio 07.36 / Publishing
XLGAMES now publishes this itself
The same letter announced that XLGAMES will self-publish ArcheAge Chronicles directly rather than going through a Western partner. The stated reason is positioning ahead of Early Access: a direct relationship with Western players, and a channel to talk to them without a publisher in between.
The practical consequence is who writes the posts. A Global PM named Don was introduced as the regular voice between the development team and the Western community, and the frequency of communication was explicitly promised to rise. Every source cited on this site is an output of that arrangement.
Folio 07.37 / The phrase that is not a date
Sooner than you might think
Two sentences in that letter are the closest thing to a schedule that exists. One says players will not need an invite for much longer. The other says Early Access is coming sooner than you might think, and a later paragraph puts the plan at later this year.
None of that is a date, and it is worth being blunt about why it gets repeated everywhere: a phrase like this is quotable and a date is not yet available. The only two places a real date can appear are the Steam release field and the announcement feed, both linked below.
Folio 07.4 / How to actually find out
Where the date will appear first
The studio has said it will share the Early Access launch date, the box price, and when players can actually get the game as soon as those are ready. In practice that means the Steam announcement feed, not a press release, because that is where every one of these posts has been published so far, including the demo details, the PvP design post and the progression deep dive.
The Steam page itself is the second place to watch, because the release date field flips from coming soon once a date is locked. Between those two there is no need to trust a countdown timer on a fan site, including this one.
